On August 1997, Visitel with PT. Telkom Indonesia grand launched the first Premium Call service in Indonesia and created a telephony quiz entitled “Semarak Merdeka”. Almost three years later on January 2000, Visitel created another leading edge innovation through a combination of telephone and television device technologies to broadcast vote call live during a Telkomania event. From the second semester of 2000 to the first semester of 2001, Visitel became the biggest Premium Call Service Provider with total revenue of 21 billion Rupiah.
